McDonald’s Happy Meal Get Lawsuits Galore

Fast food giant McDonald’s would face dozens of lawsuits if they don’t remove the toys they offer in happy meals. Private health groups urged McDonald’s to remove all the toys from their meal packages. They believe that McDonald’s contributes to the obesity problems of the country, by making unhealthy foods look more desirable for children. Foods sold in fast foods chains are believed to be high in calories, salty and oily.
This action was prompted after the pull out of Shrek toys in Happy Meals due to plastic contamination. The group believes that children only eat at McDonald’s for the free toys in their meals; once they are served with the food they have no choice but to eat it. Which I believe is true! When I was kid I only eat at McDonald’s to get the free toys in every Happy Meal.
McDonald’s issued a statement saying that defending their Happy Meal, “our Happy Meals are right-sized for children’s and we offer them healthful choices. The toys are just one part of a fun, family experience at McDonald’s.” McDonald’s started offering apple slices with caramel dips in place of French fries and milk in place of soda to show their support for the anti-obesity campaign of the government.
