McDonald’s happy meals on a change According to the Washington Post, the food chain McDonald’s has declared that there will be some changes to their happy meals, including an obligatory smaller orders of fries and apple slices. This is after a lot of parents and grandparents thought of the rising childhood obesity epidemic.

The fast food giant is widely recognized in showing their apple slices as a substitute for the fries in commercials of its Happy Meals. At this time, McDonald’s is offering chicken nuggets or burgers with apple slices or fries in it. Caramel dipping sauces are also served together with the apple slices, and as part of the nutritional changes, McDonald’s is planning to remove the sauces in the meal.

There is an 88% of the customers of McDonald’s who are conscious of the apple slices, yet there is an eleven percent of the total consumers who chooses apples rather than the fries.

The company is hoping that this nutritional change will also change the eating habits of the consumers, as well as it improves its image on the fast food business world and enhances its sales. The expected launching of McDonald’s new Happy Meals will be this September. This will be featuring a selection of a cheeseburger or hamburger, chicken nuggets with apple slices and half portions of fries.
