Drive Aimed at Women with Lung Cancer

An expert cautioned that women are less probably to inquire about advices medically for symptoms of lung cancer in comparison with other types of such disease regardless of it being the largest cancer killer of the gender.
According to a new survey, the figures revealed that in five women, there is only one who appropriately identified lung cancer as the largest cancer killer for women in UK.
The other eighty percent, which is the majority, are considering cervical and breast cancer as the cause of deaths among a number of females.
However, lung cancer has been the bigger killer compared when the two diseases are combined. According to the Cancer Research UK, every year there are about 15,000 women living than the dying 13,000 due to cervical or breast cancer.
NHS Grampian’s consultant medical oncologist Dr. Marianne Nicolson explained that with the information they have puts on a real concern, saying that the majority of women are not familiar with the significance of lung cancer’s diagnosis.
Moreover, she stated that most number of women has the knowledge on self-examination for breast cancer’s symptoms like lumps and to seek medical advice immediately whenever they have concerns about it. Additionally, the survey presented that women are less probably would like to meet with their doctors immediately whenever symptoms of lung cancer show, like coughing constantly.
The survey also found out that a lot of women failed in appreciating the reduced diagnosis linked to lung cancer.
